What if you could work in the country of your dreams for a few years? What if you could finally gain that work abroad experience you have always wished for? What if you could do this right after graduating from University?
AIESEC, the world’s largest international non-profit student-run organization, can offer you an opportunity to fulfill that dream. AIESEC, which stands for “Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales” (“International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences”), offers university students and recent graduates work opportunities in over 120 countries throughout the world.
What is AIESEC?
AIESEC was founded in 1948 after the world war to promote international peace and youth empowerment, and help students work across borders. It quickly grew to become one of the world’s largest youth leadership organizations, present today on 2,400 campus.
Annually, AIESEC offers 24,000+ leadership positions and offers over 500 conferences to its 90,000+ members. It also offers job opportunities to over 20,000 student and recent graduates worldwide, in 124 countries!
How it Works
You decide you want to work abroad for 6 months – 2 years. You apply to the AIESEC chapter in your University or the chapter of a university close to where you reside. Then, the members of that chapter will help you find the perfect job opportunity abroad. Once you are paired, you go through an interview process, to make sure your future employer and you will get along properly. Once you get to the place where you will work abroad, the AIESEC chapter at that location will help you integrate within the community. Therefore, not only will get a great job opportunity, you will also get to know locals and be immersed within the culture very quickly.
Having been a part of AIESEC, I can honestly say it is a great organization that is sure to offer you a great work abroad opportunity! If you are still in University, consider joining AIESEC to get great leadership experience and understand the way a real-life organization functions.
