Essentially, you will be concerned with coordinating medical activities, supervising and training local staff. In most places, you will only administer direct care in critical situations like triage and surgery.

Worldwide travel nursing opportunities are plentiful with Doctors Without Borders, but you must be a registered nurse with a minimum of two years’ experience to apply.* You should be available to work for 6 months and have good English communication skills.

Feel like doing good while working abroad? This is one of the best websites to find jobs that make a social impact. As a traveling nurse you will have many opportunities available through this resource!

Au Pair

If you are under 30 years old, this is a great option for you! As an Au Pair you will take care of kids abroad.

“An au pair is an unmarried young adult aged 18 to 30 years, who has no children and travels to a foreign country for a defined period of time to live with a host family. The au pair is considered as a full member of the family during the entire stay. As such, he or she helps the family with childcare and [helps with] light household tasks. As a certified nurse you will immediately be on the top of everyone’s list, allowing you to live in extremely nice places such as a mansion in France, or a private resort in the Caribbeans.

AirBnb

While working as a worldwide travel nurse, why not earn some money on the side?  Since some of the options above won’t earn you a salary (Helpx and the likes), one way to make an income while pursuing your adventure is to rent out your apartment space.

Finally, you will learn a new set of skills to compliment your existing ones, making you more valuable to employers. Your thoughts will become more coherent and your network will grow along with your toolbelt.
